Syria and beyond - a view from Israel.

Post by papa_umau on Fri 30 Aug 2013, 11:42 am

Here is a report from CBN News that postulates what is behind all of the strife in the Middle East.

It suggests that the warfare and ethnic strife that is arising in just about all of the Middle Eastern states is being caused by ancient ethnic hatred between different Islamic factions, and that the present troubles in Syria are a perfect example of how this is now being applied right across the Arab world.

Please read this below and go to the actual CBN website HERE in order to read more about this idea.

    From CBN News:

JERUSALEM, Israel -- The conflict between Muslims in Syria is a civil war you aren't hearing about and the most brutal battle in the world right now.

Grainy cell phone videos, brutal in-fighting, Islamic shouts, and failed negotiations mark the 17-month long Syrian uprising.

"What is happening in Syria is that [President] Bashar Assad and his Alawite elite are fighting a war of self-survival, self-preservation against what is essentially a Sunni revolt against them," Dore Gold, director of the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs, told CBN News.

SO.... if you have read all that was reported in that link, as I have, I believe that it seriously suggests that most of the modern wars in the Middle East are not about Christianity against Islam or Judaism against Islam, but it is actually about Muslim against Muslim and probably always will be until one side in that argument is wiped out in some kind of Muslim on Muslim genocide.

    Opinions please.

And we hear the cries of "Allahu Akbar" ( God is great ), coming from both sides of this cruelty and bloodletting.

Maybe they should think about what they are saying before they invoke their God in support of the atrocities that they all commit in his name.

Such holy wars never end unless the people that they see as infidels are completely wiped out.

I have to ask: Does that include the other Muslim sects that they seem to also hate so much ?

    Very well said Zath'.

If the political and religious desires are broken down into their individual components in the Middle East all we are left with is a desire to destroy all people who do not embrace Islam and afterwards a desire to destroy all people who do not embrace each particular controlling sect set within Islam.

Most of the Islamicists are still immersed in the ways of thinking that have ruled them since the times of the warring tribes. Very little has changed in this since the days of the crusades, and before.

Well said all, That is exactly what it would appear to be. Not only are they raging against Christians, but themselves as well.

I learned all about these divides when I worked in Pakistan quite some years since. Up till then I had not appreciated the cultural issues and conflicts.

Problem is that all this living in the past and warmongering has done nothing for many of the middle eastern nations. Most are half built or being destroyed by war, and if they put half that effort into looking after their own people and building up modern urban towns and cities they might get somewhere. I know this is not universaly the case, but the squalor is fairly widespread.

Well said Technician, and thanks for your personal experience of this.

I think you have hit the nail right on the head here as historically such wars, either inter-tribally, inter-ethnic or just based on religious hatred, have done nothing whatsoever for the ordinary people of the Middle East.

Their once great civilisations have all been virtually destroyed and nothing is left but the very poor at one end and the oil-rich and privileged families at the other end.

I see no improvement in these happening in the near or even distant future as, just like in Iran, the war to introduce Sharia law in all of the Arab states will go on indefinitely.

We will do well to keep right out of that kind of a conflict as if we don't it is going to bring us down with it.
