    "Complaints departments" from GCN.

    I know that many of you will already know that most if not all retailers, manufacturers and business entities have dedicated customer service complaint departments, but have any of you ever considered WHY this is the case ?

    An interesting website I discovered speculates on this exact point and you folks may find it interesting to read what GCN has to say HERE.

    What do you think about this and do you think that GCN is right

    I think that site has it right on the button Paps.

    Why would they need a complaints department if their products and their services were not crap ?

    Customer service departments that include a complaints section are there to assuage troublesome customers so that many might feel that so long as a complaint has been registered they have done all that they can do.

    Not enough people know that if they are unsatisfied with what these "whitewash" departments do that they can take their complaints further.

    For instance The Citizens Advice Bureau or ( CAB ), The Trading Standards people, and The Ombudsman for the specific complaint.

    The British people are slowly being educated in how to properly complain and I am happy that it is websites like this one that are on the forefront of this áimportant quest.

    I always like to redirect such people to our own self-help sub-forum HERE where they will find helpful addresses and websites and phone-numbers to this end.
