    Brits are now being bombarded by nuisance telephone calls and texts to mobiles, with some receiving hundreds per year.

    More than 60% of us receive up to six nuisance calls and texts per week, but ten percent are getting bothered by as much as thirteen - that's an annoying 676 a year, according to research by mobile phone insurer www.insurance2go.co.uk

    To help avoid such nuisance calls, register you mobile or your land line with the Telephone Preference Service at www.tpsonline.org.uk

    Never answer international calls or respond to texts when you are unsure of the source.

    Don't tick the website boxes that offer information from third parties.

    Complain to the Information Commissioner at www.ico.org.uk/complaints about nuisance calls or texts as they have the power to fine firms for these practices.

    Great post Paps.

    I think that this nonsense is probably the worst thing that is going on in marketing today.

    I do hope that these sites can stop it or even slow it down.

    Left to their own volition they will not stop or even slow down.

    They are going to have to be stopped by legislation, but do not expect THIS government to legislate to give these marketing animals an easy time.

    Of course one of the main problems here is the fact that a lot of these calls come from abroad, where they cannot be got at at all.
