Sony undercut Microsoft in the games box war.

Post by papa_umau on Wed 12 Jun 2013, 11:14 am

SONY gave Microsoft a bloody nose yesterday – unveiling a new console that’s £80 cheaper than the Xbox One.
Microsoft had announced their games machine would cost £429 when it launches in November just hours earlier.
But at the E3 electronics trade show in Los Angeles, Sony’s Welsh chief executive Andrew House gave the PlayStation 4 the edge in the console wars.
It will sell for £349 and won’t put restrictions on owners buying second-hand games or borrowing them from pals, while Microsoft will.

What I want to ask is why are these machines always so much more expensive in Britain than they are in America ?

I for one couldn't give a fig about Sony or Microsoft as I think they are both rip-off merchants.

Game-playing like that is for  nerds and immature people.

Not my cup of tea at all.

True, but it seems that the youngsters and the nerds of today have all the money that they might need to keep up to date with all of these new and shiny games machines.

I cannot even afford a cheap personal laptop.

    That's sad my dear !

But, what is it that you are using to do all this with ? Suspect

I guess it's a 'pooter of some sort.

I too would love to have a laptop or a tablet to use downstairs - while away from my hard-wired-to-the-internet computer - but even if I do have an unlimited data access to my TalkTalk wi-fi node I have no means of using this function without a laptop or tablet.

And before you say it, yes, my smartphone has this function, but the webpages that are shown on it are far too small for my failing eyesight.

Maybe I will get one for my seventieth birthday, next year. Twisted Evil
