HMRC closes two glaring tax loopholes.

Post by papa_umau on Tue 28 Feb 2012, 12:01 pm

By a report in today's Independent newspaper, it appears that Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs, ( HMRC ), has found and closed two loopholes that would have ensured that Barclays bank would have tried to use to allegedly avoid paying tax on 500 million.

    Read more about this HERE.

As far as I see this is only the very thin end of the wedge that HMRC should be using to stop this tax avoidance by corporations AND individuals, as if they did, the tax that they would recover by doing this could almost by itself pay off our government borrowing deficit.

What do you folks think ?

Yeah, and an eminent financial expert, ( can't remember his name ), said yesterday on the telly that the financial sector in the London "square mile" are a factory for churning out ways that their rich customers can avoid paying tax.

I don't know why the FSA don't get a grip on this bunch of chancers, and I don't know why the government don't get a grip on the FSA.

I do believe that the FSA are getting re-organised and are getting more powers right at this moment.
