    Osborne, the magician ??????????????????????

Post by Parliament.... on Mon 28 Nov 2011, 2:43 pm

The vital difference between Europe and our Anglo-Saxon, low waged, short term, deregulated, free market mess, is that Europe have a Manufacturing & Industry base, Britain does not.

We are a short term, low waged, deregulated mess, and no amount of money from Osborne is going to change this.

WOW Ivanhoe...you used a very broad brush when you illustrated that statement.

Having said that, I think you are right about the points that you did make.

For a long time now Britain has been making a transition from properly regulated business and financial sectors to greater and greater deregulated ones.

The largest mistake was when the financial sectors were allowed to regulate themselves on this side and that side of the Atlantic, as we all know what happened next.

The profligate greed of the money-makers and speculators on both sides of the Atlantic led to the great crash where almost all of the world's money and trading markets were driven to the brink of destruction and many knock-on effects have kept the once-solvent countries of Europe - including us BTW - close to the edge of failure.

Now we see Britain in the grip of the rabid cuts that the government thought correct and we are also seeing this country struggling to get out of the recession that resulted as wages in the middle and bottom sectors were frozen, prices rose uncontrolled with ever-rising inflation and the streets of this country were filled with riots and industrial actions.

All the time that this is happening the chancellor is sitting like Nero and playing his fiddle while Britain burns.

This HAS TO BE the most incompetent government that Britain has EVER had and the quicker they are thrown out on their ear the better it will be for all of the country.

Pap, No Tory Government is incompetent. They know precisely what they are doing, for the rich.

One of the greatest mistakes made in this country by the working classses, is believing Tory Government's are incompetent, they are not, right wing Tory Government's since Thatcher have been very competent indeed.

And my original posting was to the point, and clear.

Europe have had State intervention in their manufacturing and industry bases for decades.

Where we in Britain since Thatcher, have been low waged, short term, insecure, where profit has ruled, and now we are reaping what has been sown.

I would be more happy to agree that they are both incompetent and that they are driven by their hard-right dogma too. It is BOTH of these qualities that makes them so dangerous to the ordinary people of Britain as along with their drive to ensure that the rich stay rich they just do not seem to know what is needed to make Britain fully productive again without hammering the ordinary taxpayers harder and harder.

Remember that both Cameron and Osborne are really quite young as top ministers go and with their youthfulness comes lack of experience and the character weakness that makes them easy to mould by the hard-right grandees behind them.

I think that not until this government are destroyed will fairness and competent government ever come back as surely they are so bogged down with their selfish and dogmatic ways that nothing will change until a more inclusive government is elected to take their place.

    Sooner rather than later !
