Yes Ivanhoe, this subject is fast coming to a head and the government and the party that follows them into political power are well aware of what we want from them.

Your petition and many more such actions right around the streets and on and off the internet are bringing these facts to the minds of the people who spend our taxation finances.

They know how we feel already and so long as we do not let them get comfortable they will have this problem affecting their consciences every minute of every day.

We can no longer be ignored as we are now far too many in number and they are aware that these numbers can make or break them if we hold strong and stay strong together.

It is also well known by the politicos that it is from within the ages from fifty years onwards that the mass of the active voters come and they MUST be aware that it is this demographic that they are going to have to pay attention to and spend time on as they work to serve all of us.

Pap, I dont know about you, but as far as I am concerned, whatever happens positivelly, it will be too little, too late for many thousands, if not millions, of our frail and old.

Never mind just the "frail and old" as even the young folks like myself are suffering from the poor wages, the advancing cost of living and the inability to be able to buy even the smallest of second-hand houses. I am sick of paying £420.00 a month for a crappy flat !

Now I am depressed again and I have no "mother's ruin" left.

I might just go back to bed and snuggle in as I cannot afford to do anything else.

Do you folks know how long it has been since I actually bought a new pair of shoes or a new handbag ?

Everybody is moaning from their own little corner of their world. And right now the Tory lead coalition have managed to divide the private sector from the public sector, and it's worked.

This economy and a rampant CON-DEM government are making everybody's life a misery, not just the old folks's.

I get so annoyed when I realise that most of the people in Cameron's Cabinet are millionaires that I wonder just how he can even start to imagine what it is like in his CON-DEM world if you are not a millionaire.

You obviously do not realise just how important it is for a woman to be able to buy a new hand-bag or a new pair of shoes when that woman does not smoke, drink too much, gamble, or go with dirty men so that she can save her few pennies for the odd luxury now and again.

I know I will be an old age pensioner eventually and I also know that if this government get its way I too will be stuck with nothing but a worthless state pension to go with my also-worthless occupational pension with which to see me out my days.

I honestly don't know how things can get any worse and I worry all the time about how I am going to survive.

Any suggestions ?

I always state the "old folks", because if it had not been for the grand efforts of our war generation, no matter how many are alive today, in the War years, none of us would probably be around today.

I know there are people sleeping rough and freezing in this country and going hungry, across the generations, infact young people have got nothing.

This is why, and I say it again, that I have always believed that the young should support the old, 1000 per cent.
