After all the bally-hoo over the politicians expenses here we now see exactly the same happening at the BBC.

BBC chief Mark Thompson said that it was wholly justified to pay £350,000 in expenses to top executives for things like champagne, haircuts, flowers and a Big Ben teapot ???.

With the licence fee going up and up every year and the BBC trying to save money by cutting the salaries in half of the big names like Wogan and Wossie one would think that the top executives of the BBC might be wiling to draw their belts in a bit tighter too. No such luck as it was released a few days ago that all of the 27 big bosses in the BBC earned more per head than the Prime Minister's salary at £195,000.

Here again, because we pay these salaries directly I think we should have a say in how much these fat-cats get paid, don't you ?

The whole point is Angie...that if the CAN, they WILL and there is little or nothing that we can do about it.

You are right to write about this as it is only when people are informed about such excesses that we can maybe do something about them.

Don't be sure that public opinion can not do anything about this Paps as you for one should know just how effective public opinion can be.

It is just sad that they will not be reading this forum.
