Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
"Ripped Off Britain" is now the SECOND entry down on the Google page for this search.
Now that the Rip-Off Britain forum is closed we may find that our own forum will come a bit more to the fore.
I hope so !

You may or may not have noticed that when any page starts to load there is a registered copyright logo in blue that appears. After the page has loaded this logo is always present at the bottom of every page.
This means that the website and all of its unique features can not be copied anywhere else on the internet.
I must, once again, thank Merlinz for writing the copyright code for me.

Some of you may have noticed that I have managed to aquire some new icons for the left hand columns. I thought that the ones that came with the basic blue skin were a bit boring.
Any comments ?

I have changed the profile position from right to left justified as I think it looks better that way.
Hope you all like it !

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Further to the posts above, I have to tell you that I have continued to "tweak" the information icons at the far left of every entry so that they now look much more attractive.
This might cause some confusion in the minds of the board-users as they change automatically when new information or new posts is available - or not - to individual log-ins.
If you want to know what the icon stands for as far as YOU are concerned just go to the bottom of the main index page and you will see an explanation of the legends of all of these available icons.

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Even if Motco dos not appreciate all of your hard work I certainly do.
You have made the forum a very nice place to be and all of the new buttons and icons are very pretty.
I like the profile border on the left too as that is where it was originally.
Keep up the good work Papa.

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Anybody that reads this news section will have noticed that the banner-logo at the top of the screen for the website ident has changed.
Yes, it has and that is because either our friend Merlinz has deleted his Photobucket account or Photobucket has decided to delete all of his stored stuff - including my nice logo and the copyright notice.
As I do not know how to write CSS code to replace the copyright code I cannot replace the copyright notice. Maybe later on I will learn how to do it.
I have found a copy of the British Island Ripped-Off Britain icon and I have hosted it online myself and re-inserted it as the forum heading.
I now wish I had stored a copy of the full heading image, but as I didn't it is now gone. Never-mind eh ?

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Sorry to see you are having problems.
I have been doing a routine clear out of all my photobucket accounts for items that I assumed were hosted else were or I didn’t use any longer.
I remember telling you to both copy and host all images yourself so I am surprised you have been affected at the moment I am very busy so cant help but will try and make some time over the coming days.
With the copyright notice you don’t need any knowledge of CSS other than replacing the images http link with a image of your own or you can wait till I get around to doing one.
Indeed the forum banner is now lost forever I cant believe you didn’t host it yourself but PM me what you want wrote on a banner to refresh my memory and the specs and ill send you some graphics over the next few days like stated above.

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
I am not blaming you Merlinz as YES, it WAS my own fault for not copying the stuff to my own computer and hosting it from some other site. You did warn me but I just gave in to the laziness of it.
Never mind eh ?
I cannot just insert a new image to the copyright message as I deleted it all in my CSS Stylesheet page in a fit of pique at the Photobucket notice of deletion. All of that CSS coding you gave me for the copyright notice is gone forever.
I had to delete the code in the affiliate page for the Wales Forum too as that bloody Photobucket notice was there too.
The copy that I used to have of Photoshop - version 4 - in my last O/S was meant for WIN98 so I didn't re-install it as I don't want to try to run it with XP. I definitely miss having that programme and the other two photo-progs I have are rubbish compared with it. I think I will get a new version of Photoshop and install it today.
All the best to you in your future activities !

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Ok that’s no problem I can redo the code that wont be gone forever lol but the images will be obviously, I closed walesfforwm to focus on other stuff you know most of the details there so the walesfforwm affiliate doesn’t matter either I deleted all walesfforwm images excluding avatars and smiley’s because don’t plan to reopen.
The new version of Photoshop is CS4 i got extended audition and its a excellent tool you cant go wrong with it if you need any help just PM as always.
If you find it too hard message me the details of what to write and ill make some time just make sure you copy and host.
Know not been around much and not been helping as much as before but i do pop in and read the political section when have time spare moment or two.

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Thanks again Merlinz !
I had a look at the latest version of Photoshop and at £300+ a pop it is far too rich for me.
I HAVE aquired an older version that does work under XP and now all I need to do is to find out how to drive it all over again.
I plan to study online tutorials for Photoshop as there are plenty of them.

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Yes Photoshop is expensive for all the adobe software I currently got ive spend over 2k but it’s a great help..
There are not many alternatives sadly for professionals other than GIMP that’s free Jalokim uses a combination of both PS CS3 and Gimp so it cant be that bad for free software.
Any way, I been expecting to see a nice new banner so how are you finding PS ?
Ive almost completed my secret part time project well the website part the forum wont be done for a few months because need to refine the text on website, design the forum and find other theme designers to join the site… Ill give you a advanced preview once the websites up though.

Re: NEWS... KEEP LOOKING......
Still doing some careful studying of PS and mucking about with it on my own pooter. I will create something nice for the heading once I feel competent enough to do it.
I must admit that I am having some problems with "layers" as to a novice like me they are quite complicated.
I guess that the person who finds things easy is the person who KNOWS how to do it. Being self taught - as I have done most of my life - is a hard way to do it !
