In these days of bad feeling about Britain and the British and when we are all struggling to get by I thought that the wonderful act of this brave soldier was so uplifting that I just had to mention it here.
A man had both of his legs blown off in war and after he was told he would never walk again he not only walked again but he got up and did a marathon with the help of artificial legs and crutches.
Major Phil Packer started something that few people would have the strength or courage to do when he attempted to complete a marathon without any legs but he did it even if it took THIRTEEN days to complete the course.
I think an action like that one puts all of our petty mumblings into persective and gives us all hope that just about anything can be done if we put our minds to the task.
Well done Phil. You are my hero and a person to be admired by everyone in Britain and even the world.
